We discussed how H-Anim Specification is
- independent
- defines functionality in a language-independent way
- would have mappings defined for X3D separately in X3D specification
- would have mappings defined for VRML as an informational annex (since VRML specification work is not an ongoing project)

Don and Dick have responsibility for ensuring that the H-Anim mappings for X3D are done correctly. Generation of VRML97 mappings are automatically produced by existing converters. Integration into the specification documents is then a pretty straightforward editorial task.

It would be interesting if someday mappings/encodings of H-Anim models to other humanoid standards or practices appeared to be useful.

We discussed whether the list of 13 items (detailed below) were feasible in 1 year, and if it might be better to split them out.

Many of the items are closely interrelated and so it might be best to try resolving and harmonizing whatever is practical first. Then when the deadline arrives (perhaps one year) we see what is not ready and defer those parts.

Item 10) Skinning was something that was almost complete during the prior lifetime of the H-Anim group. It should stay in scope.

Item 12) Facial models - many exist and have been published, they would needed to be considered compared and evaluated. This should be a distinct item with special models for different purposes, direct scanning might not be possible.

Item 12) hands, fingers, feet, and toes should be considered separately from face. Only toes need to be added, the rest are already defined in H-Anim.

We agreed that the following items could be merged:
7) Definition of interoperable human behavior prototypes
11) Definition of recording interface for human motion such as gait

New Work Item Proposals are not always completed 100%, it will be OK if most work gets done before the goal deadline and other work is left as future work if not ready for standardization.

NWIP submission when the group is ready - usually that means draft text.

We could also do the NWIP plan as part of the Web3D rechartering of H-Anim Working Group.
