<P><BR>>1. Reconsideration of William O. Glascoe's comments from April 10 </P>
<P>William discussed details of the human simulation conference.<BR>About 80 people were in attendance including vendors and specialists in <BR>human simulation, motion capture, and image and motion scanner and sensors.<BR>We were in agreement on many issues around interfaces, use cases, and human interaction.<BR>Based on William's points, the standardization of interfaces <BR>for various scanning devices, including in the areas of medicine and engineering, should be considered.<BR>It is necessary to classify all devices generating or scanning human models whether <BR>they are sensing devices or design tools. <BR>Various sensing devices should be considered, including medical devices and cameras. <BR>We will further keep up with human modelling using such sensing devices.</P>
<P>There was a discussion about muscle simulation. As Dick explained, it is difficult to standardize muscles <BR>and their simulation at this time. We need to first define a representation and algorithm for generating <BR>a model specifically for muscles. </P>
<P>3D scanner data exchange is included in the revison of H-Anim. <BR>Figure 1 on the H-Anim wiki (<A href="http://www.web3d.org/membership/login/memberwiki/index.php/H-Anim_Motion_Definition">http://www.web3d.org/membership/login/memberwiki/index.php/H-Anim_Motion_Definition</A>)</P>
<P>shows the procedure for H-Anim motion creation using raw character models <BR>designed from general 3D scanner and 3D graphics tools.</P>

<P>> 2. Preparation of ISO new work item proposal <BR>> A new item, "Preparation of NWIP for submission to ISO", has been added to the member wiki.</P>

<P>We plan to submit this NWIP to the SC24 Plenary meeting, August 19-24, Brussels, Belgium.<BR>Please check the link and submit comments as necessary.</P>

<P>Starting next month, H-Anim WG meetings will be held every first Wednesday of the month at 5pm PDT. </P>

<P>The H-Anim WG meeting will be held immediately following the AR WG meeting, with agenda items as follows:</P>
<P><BR>1. Reconsideration of William O Glascoe's comments from April 10 </P>

I sense the production, ownership and usage of 3D-body scanning for the consumer (and service provider) to increase drastically this decade (000s units sold per month and up to 1 scan per day) <BR>2. I sense H-Anim needs to be the standard of choice for use in the software bundled with these devices if not part of the leading add-on (helper apps) for useers with 00s if not 000s of scans to manage. <BR>3. I sense H-Anim needs to establish deep and lasting relationships with the ... human pipeline defined by the innovations, disciplines and communities for Digital Human Modeling and Human Simulation to mature or extend H-Anim at the pace of these communities' developments so their outputs have a standard for animation <BR>4. I believe the H-Anim design description needs to document the salient discussion of how it chose what to leave out as much if not more than what it chose to include in the context of complementary hardware and software technologies with dominant market share and likely market disruptors emerging at the end of the 2-yr ISO standardization for the H-Anim next update. <BR>=========</P>
<P>Based on William's comments, I suggest that 3D scanner data exchange now be included in the revison of H-Anim. <BR>I have updated the H-Anim animation procedure, described in Figure 1 on the H-Anim wiki. </P>
