My 0.02c. Just added some debug bits to the FreeWRL code.

FreeWRL uses hardware occlusion culling; when the VisibilitySensor is  
switched out; it never gets redrawn, and thus, never goes inactive. It  
needs at least one frame where it can "draw" the VisibilitySensor in  
order to see whether it is there or not.

BTW - once again, I really like your tests, even if I may not like  
reading the results; you have an interesting and refreshing grasp of  
X3D.
