Deep MatrixIP9 1.03 is now available for download here:

http://www.deepmatrix.org/downloads/DeepMatrixIP9-v1_03/

Deep MatrixIP9 is an open-source multi-user client/server system for
vrml/x3d formats and currently works specifically for the 3D viewer Instant
Player: http://www.instantreality.org <http://www.instantreality.org/>

System requirements, features, a Quick Start guide as well as general
documentation can be found here:

http://www.deepmatrix.org/documentation/README.html

More information can be found at: http://www.deepmatrix.org

Changes for this version:
1 Fixed an aborted-login bug on the server. A user must be full logged-in
before receiving updates. Thanks to John Carlson of the x3d public list and
user "srm" for finding this bug!
2. The scene graph search feature has been improved for attempting to load
worlds on the fly.
It is now both a little faster and hopefully it now catches all relative
urls!
3. The Deep Matrix Java application now closes the 3D viewer Instant Player
when changing worlds or disconnecting. It re-opens when connecting to a new
world. This major change eliminates memory issues and allows a user to visit
as many worlds as they like.
This also eliminated:
 1. AudioClip Node bug that cropped up in version 1.02.
 2. Crashing involving avatars and worlds with numerous DirectionalLights.
Consequently the client_application sub-folders for starting the client have
changed considerably for the new system!
4. Minor layout tweeks to the Java GUI.
6. Created compiling scripts for modern 1.5<=JDKs for Windows, Linux and
Mac. The compiling script for Mac is written for java version 1.5.0_19 as my
Mac is still a powerPC with Tiger.

All development and testing was done on Windows XP (32 and 64 bit), Windows
7 (64-bit), Mac OS X Tiger on a PowerPC,
Fedora 11 (64-bit), Ubuntu 9.04, Suse 11.1, and Debian 5.04.
Vista, Leopard and Red Hat systems are currently unknown, but it should work
on any operating system where an "instantreality.jar" can be found in the
"bin" sub-folder of the Instant Reality/Instant Player installation
directory AND the latest Java is installed (the latter requirement is
important on Debian)
Known systems where it won't work are Ubuntu 10.04 and 9.1.

A brief description of what SHOULD happen when entering the "Matrix" start
world of the public server:
1. You should hear an Indian (Carnactic) mp3 file playing at modest volume.
2. After acknowledgement and credits roll by in the chat a web page
describing the worlds of the Deep Matrix public server should load.
Please address any failures to me at pyth7 at deepmatrix.org or the site's
forum.
