Announcing the FreeWRL 1.22.10 release.

FreeWRL 1.22.10; a VRML/X3D browser, has been released for Windows, Linux, and Apple desktop systems.

        http://freewrl.sourceforge.net

Changes since 1.22.9 include:

- Performance improvements;
- Memory usage reduction;
- runtime bugs reduced by analysis and resolution;
- build - all compiler warnings investigated and resolved as appropriate;
- more movement to OpenGL-ES 2.0 support for mobile devices;
- increased X3D Node support.

In particular:

- Anaglyph mode now shows textures when specified on the command line (ie, --anaglyph RG) for those systems that can support it; (*)

- Vertex Buffer Objects enabled by default for most graphics subsystems;

- PickableGroup and PointPickSensor from the Picking Component are in beta and available for source code builders

- New font system for Linux builds; supported by ./configure --enable-fontconfig

- Java EAI/SAI class build in Linux Source now supported by ./configure --enable-java

- more CubeMap Texture work; DDS textures not yet complete, though.

- EAI input - potential buffer overflow conditions removed.

Notes:

- "FLY" mode currently not functioning on the Win32 1.22.10 release.

- (*) anaglyph mode - we welcome you joining the freewill mailing list to best discuss anaglyph rendering successes or issues. Mailing list details are available on the page:
