Discussed on X3D working group call today. The source field is correctly specified as MFString. So the preceding proposal is incorrect.

New change suggestions:

Paragraph 4, last sentence. Change
"The mode field may contain an additional blending mode for the alpha channel."
to
"The enumeration value chosen for the mode field may also specify the blending mode for the alpha channel.

Table 18.3:
Add "(default)" after first table entry MODULATE for consistency.

Add sentence at end of source field paragraph:
"Typically there are the same number of source values as textures. Otherwise the default source value is used.

Add sentence at end of function field paragraph:
"Typically there are the same number of function values as textures. Otherwise the default function value is used.
