[X3D-Public] X3D-Edt release announcement: support for external volume data editing tools

New update for X3D-Edit supports launching of editors for volume data and image slicing. It is very helpful to use X3D-Edit as a hub for launching, comparing and integrating results from a variety of multimedia tools.

X3D-Edit is able to launch user-downloaded external tools for further editing of multimedia files. Configuration is performed via the X3D-Edit Preferences panel under the Multimedia tools and X3D, Volume Authoring tools panes. Invocation is provided as part of the url or meta tag editor widgets. User-chosen built-in support is provided for the following cross-platform editing tools. These can be invoked via a url editor or the meta tag editor.
- Audio tools: Audacity and MuseScore
- HTML/XML/text tools: Amaya and UltraEdit
- Image and video tools: Gimp, Fiji, ImageJ, ImageMagick ImageConverter (screenshot) and vlc
- Volume and image-slicing tools: Fiji, ImageJ, ITK-SNAP, Seg3D, and 3D Slicer
- X3D-capable tools: Blender, MeshLab, , Paraview, Seamless3d, UltraEdit and Wings3d
