Hi Cecile

Thank you for this explanation. Now it's clear for a newbie like me :)
I hope you agree, when I cc your answer to x3d-public

See you
Christoph

P.S.: repeated due to problems with html format

Hi Christoph,

I meant it in the sense that it would useful for the X3D specs to add support
for it given becoming a de facto standard for multiuser 3d (and could be used
with X3DOM if you write scripts accordingly).

But you're right, you can safely ignore it if you're looking for
a pure X3D solution.

See you,
Cecile

 Hi Cecile

Thank you for the information.

Just to make it sure: I asked about X3D scenes and you are answering about WebGL. Isn't that a completely different approach?

Best regards
Christoph

Hi Christoph,

Yes it could have an effect: if you aimed to make a multiuser scene in WebGL today,
WebRTC is what you'd use for the multiuser part; that's the basis for things like
Photon Cloud (http://cloud.exitgames.com[http://cloud.exitgames.com]) or PeerJS (http://peerjs.com[http://peerjs.com]) for example.

See you,
Cecile
