[cc: x3d-public for possible general interest]

Roy, here are my inputs for this week's working-group teleconference. Apologies for not being able to attend this morning.

The X3D Example Archives have been improved to allow linking of meta tags in scenes that are created as specification examples.

Thumbnail images have also been added to each directory entry to make perusing them easier. These are created by Xj3D in offline-render mode and now are produced as an automated part of the build process. All of the X3D example archives have been updated to include these thumbnail images in each chapter directory.

For example specification directories please see

VRML 97 Specification
http://www.web3d.org/x3d/content/examples/Basic/Vrml97Specification

X3D Specifications
http://www.web3d.org/x3d/content/examples/Basic/X3dSpecifications/

with our most recent scene of interest

Triangle Strip Set Figure

http://www.web3d.org/x3d/content/examples/Basic/X3dSpecifications/TriangleStripSetFigure.x3d
http://www.web3d.org/x3d/content/examples/Basic/X3dSpecifications/TriangleStripSetFigure.html
http://www.web3d.org/x3d/content/examples/Basic/X3dSpecifications/TriangleStripSetFigure.json  :)

Scene excerpts:
<meta name='specificationSection' content='X3D Abstract Specification, Part 1: Architecture and base components, Topic 11.4.14 TriangleStripSet'/>
<meta name='specificationUrl' content='http://www.web3d.org/documents/specifications/19775-1/V3.3/Part01/components/rendering.html#TriangleStripSet'/>

Snapshots attached. For the TSS examples: blue version is IndexedTriangleStripSet, grey version is original spec TriangleStripSet example.

It will now be easier to keep track of our specification examples over the long-term. As with other X3D examples these are under version control, and so keeping a history of changes & reasons is also automatic.

all the best, Don
