Okay, one issue I see with this is that there isn’t a viewer for assimp models on macs.  Or does someone know of one?

I’m going to start work on a X3DJSON importer/loader based on the glTF importer (actually the rapidJSON parser).  So I can learn more of glTF and X3D at the same time, and also test the JSON encoding.  I’ll start work on the Interchange Profile, unless someone objects.
