from last fall, this appears to be a convergence of technologies for human animation, medical visualization, 3D CAD and 3D printing, with improved quality of life for actual humans at the focus point:

a unified strategy among our various X3D working groups doesn't look to be too many years away...

seems like the tip of an iceberg.  wondering who can engage with these folks?
