Oops, only replied to Don. Just wanted to note that the Web3D site does have
tons of VRML97 stuff. I just missed the link.

Yes.....

Following this link [Online at
http://x3dGraphics.com/examples/X3dForWebAuthors ]

I get the x3d file listing. However, I missed the following section

.x3d x3dom .xhtml
model

.wrl VRML97 .json encoding

.x3dv .x3db

.html .xml view
listing

So, I tried the ".wrl VRML97" link and it led to a ".wrl" file.

Similarly, with all the examples "online at..." links, which also leads to
the MATLAB link. Oops, my bad....Web3D consortium examples site rocks...:-)

Thanks

John

John: every one of the 3200+ online examples includes a VRML .wrl
conversion.

There are also some MATLAB-X3D-VRML examples which we demonstrated at the
Web3D 20115 conference. Paper, video, matlab sources, etc. are provided.
Refreshed today (following SourceForge restoration over the weekend).

This server was up a few months ago when I last checked. Perhaps someone at
NIST can advise if it was moved?

The updated (and continuously maintained) version of the full suite,
including test images and test videos, can be found at

A bonus from last February is that I was able to recover Dave Nadeau's 146
SIGGRAPH 98 course examples, adding up (with some overlaps) to 415 models.
(Meanwhile at 511+ slides in the course notes, it might have been the most
extensive SIGGRAPH slideset ever!) All the scenes still work - 18 years and
counting. 8)

Will be happy to learn more about how Matlab and Labview work out for you
John, good luck!

all the best, Don
