[x3d-public] might X3D workflows get illustrated, documented for public use?

During today's X3D Working Group meeting, our Executive Director Anita Havele briefed the group today about the recent AEC Hackathon in Helsinki, and how important Workflow is considered for 3D modeling.

A good general definition of workflow is found at
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Workflow

This is a perennial topic that seems more important and relevant than ever as many tools and processes overlap and integrate for Web content production.

Last fall these kind of discussions motivated the creation of a workflow in X3D-Edit. References:

Many other tools and creative individuals have workflows as well. Examples include:

- BS Content Studio

- Seva discussed workflow in use of Blender and server-side for NIH 3D Print Exchange

- Presumably other workflows exist for other X3D-related tools:

- Shapefile to X3D workflow

Although tools vary, there are many common patterns for authoring, modeling, converting, etc.

We might also find that workflows also vary somewhat based on different application areas: CAD export, geospatial, medical, cultural & natural heritage preservation, humanoid animation (H-Anim), scientific visualization, 3D printing, 3D scanning, etc.

Wondering, is anyone interested in working on describing and documenting X3D workflows? This might be an excellent opportunity to contribute and discuss over time, hopefully documenting for public use on a web3d.org page.

all the best, Don
