[x3d-public] System overload issues?

I have realized that the framing of my question about overload is
inappropriate given my immediate needs for extensive minor editing on
a 600k X3D file.

I can either:

-- cut out groups to reduce the size in X3D Edit -- including them
when appropriate to view the whole (since viewing is not the issue).
-- edit the whole in a simple text editor, saving with an X3D suffix
and viewing it with Cortona or H3DViewer
-- and explore reduction in coordinate precision in a text editor environment

Yet to be determined is how using the validator would be constrained
by any such approach

That said, there is clearly a case for cutting out heavy background
processing in X3D Edit when operating in this mode.
