Subject: SrrTrains - opening the project as playground?

Dear Friends of SrrTrains,

Last week Mr. John Carlson sent an e-mail to x3d-public at web3d.org with the subject "drones and x3d".

Afterwards I had a short private e-mail discussion with him (which was not posted to x3d-public), then I had some time to think about these topics.

And now I have decided to write this newsletter:

Well:

1) Now, when the slide set "Simple Multiuser Scenes for the 3D Web, experiences with the network sensor" has been presented and the real work can start, this also means my goals with the SrrTrains project have been completely fulfilled, and it need not exist any more (as of my own point of view).

2) The thoughts, which have been elaborated in the "Hibernation Report 007, New Concept Paper" (see https://letztersein.wordpress.com/srrtrains-v0-01 ) - can be used by anyone.
Maybe missing a clear copyright and licensing statement (i will do this on request - one single request by anyone of the X3D community will be sufficient).

3) However, a lot of details have been developed (although not yet finished), but I am not sure, if those details are actually pointing into the "right" direction. Maybe the project is orthogonal to the needs of the X3D community. I do not know.

4) Nevertheless, herewith I am offering to open the project as playground for the X3D community (one single request by anyone of the X3D community will be enough to let me do it).

5) Scenario a:
Some one is interested and requests to buy the administrator rights of the sourceforge project (send me a private e-mail, either to christoph.valentin at kapsch.net or to christoph.valentin at gmx.at )

Scenario b: I stay the project admin and keep the right to add and remove people to/from the project, but I will not actually do any "work".

6) Scenario c: no change at all, if I don't receive any request. In this case there is no guarantee from my side about what will happen in future.

Have a nice week,

Yours Christoph
