[x3d-public] Do modern browsers DO VRML??

They are both Javasccript implementations of X3D specification that will display an X3D model in a web page, without the need to download a plugin. They now both work in up-to-date releases of the major web browsers.

X_ITE: http://create3000.de/x_ite/getting-started/ <http://create3000.de/x_ite/getting-started/>

As independent implementations they differ in their completeness of coverage but they are very similar in their capabilites and performance.

The web page author will decide which of X3DOM or X_ITE is used on a page, though there's probably a way to write HTML5 that gives the user the option to switch and view an X3D model in either one.
