>The web3D x3d api allows integration of authortime and runtime for creation and evolution and isolation from the actual user code that >defines the scene

➢ I'm not sure I understand this sentence - could you please explain what it means?
I saw the example on the web3d page where you can click on the reindeer's nose, and it turns red - is that the kind of thing that you're talking about??

I just meant that the x3d api could be used to create a gui for scene creation, maybe like you have seen using 3D authoring tools, So, you could make a web pafe that allows a user to build a scene without ever seeing the text user code. But my basic point is that sooner or later I think you really want to be able to read the user code that describes the scene. So, about the reindeer’s nose, you can see in the example that at least you need a reindeer, a nose that either glows or is normal, and some way for the user to make the touch. In the scene user code, you need the reindeer, a nose that either glows or is normal, a way to detect the user interaction, and some way to switch the nose on and off. Read the example code to find the important parts.
Did you see the two examples for the kscope? If you don’t care to read the user code, then you must find yourself a 3D authoring tool that gives you enough gui to build what you want.
Thanks and Good Luck,
Joe,
