Hi Kwan Hee Yoo, hope you are well.

During the Korea Chapter meetings, it was good to see that your PTM component is ready for consideration and integration in X3Dv4, it will soon be a meeting focus for X3D Working Group.

Here is a thought that emerged during current discussions by the Medical Working Group. What about using PTM during virtual surgery to show a surgical-assist overlay on the patient? This would be good rehearsal for a projected overlay during actual surgery. Projected overlays are a feature that exists in some medical hardware already (X-Ray devices for example).

Found an example of this use case:

Diagnostic imaging Research update: Augmented reality projects medical images onto patients
	Physics World, 16 Feb 2018
	https://physicsworld.com/a/augmented-reality-projects-medical-images-onto-patients

and, simpler but actual patient,

Clinical application of projection mapping technology for surgical resection of lung metastasis
Toyofumi F Chen-Yoshikawa Etsuro Hatano Atsushi Yoshizawa Hiroshi Date
Interactive CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery, Volume 25, Issue 6, 1 December 2017, Pages 1010–1011,
	https://doi.org/10.1093/icvts/ivx247

Thanks for considering whether you think an X3D PTM medical example could be developed.

all the best, Don
