[x3d-public] X3DUOM web service?

Would it be possible to define a web service API standard for retrieving pieces of X3DUOM?

Please enter into wish list, I can add use cases.   The idea would be to keep up to date with latest developments, and provide support for my serializers and deprecate my generators.
