"Integrated Facility Management (IFM) has adopted X3D for the display of Building Information Models (BIM) using X3DOM in its SISfm product, which is in use with Archibus for facilities management by many university and other clients in Australia. To create X3D, IFM has developed a plugin for BIM Vision, which displays Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) files as exported from 3D CAD products such as Autodesk Revit and Graphisoft ArchiCAD. In SISfm, JavaScript is used to access the X3D DOM in order to provide features such as layering, colour and label themeing for rooms and their occupants, and item selection to display Archibus database details, as it does for 2D building floor plans, plus BIM properties. IFM announced its X3D initiative to its customers at its recent annual conference, and is about to include it in a new SISfm release. Visit http://www.integratedfm.com.au/ for more on IFM."
