If svn checkout abends, you can cd to the folder, then run

svn cleanup
svn up

to continue the checkout.   Cleanup removes the abend.

You need the specifications folder, the stylesheets folder, the tooltips folder, and the x3d/content/examples/X3dForWebAuthors folder,  I believe for a clean build.

I have tried the following, ended up with the following errors.

BTW, I could not succeed in downloading all of
https://sourceforge.net/p/x3d/code/HEAD/tree/www.web3d.org  
However, I could download all under .../x3d/stylesheet sub folder.
For other sub folders, the communication seems to "abend".
Is there a "tarball" available for all?
I wonder if there is any reason not to put these to github?
