[x3d-public] Newbie sees a lot of VFX, infinite resolution

Hi Newbie,
Everything you are learning about was top secret until people were given the rights to discuss it and obtain the tools for it in open forums and experiments. We know that somebody always needs access to the user code and the bits that are produced by tools that attempt to compose and render the scene. Progressing fantastical proprietary surfaces, pixels, animations, and interactions from reality to the screen, finally to some ‘standard’ access scheme for use in our WWW is web3D.

I’ve seen many movies, but not as many as these guys have:

Kind of like a review of Movie VFX over the years, 12 or so volumes!

When do we get the Google of rendering going so we can do this in interactive realtime?

I’m still trying to figure out if I coined the phrase “The Search for Infinite Resolution” in 1991.

I guess the search is done? https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/nvidia-infinite-resolution-patent-filing/

Are we going back to the vector graphics terminal? SVG in monitors?  Just say “no” to raster/texturing?

Or is "infinite resolution” just a new name for distributed raytracing?

John
