This is what I am interested in at this time. But as I read the draft paper for IC3D, there appears to be
• The Mapping Meta-Ontology

Where is this described? RDFT? http://openstorage.gunadarma.ac.id/pub/books/Ontology/web-semantic-proc.pdf#page=83 Are we going to develop our own mapping meta-ontology or adopt one? I just found this for knowledge mapping, cool: https://openknowledgemaps.org/

Specifically, since we are on the x3d-public list, can people supply their appropriate domain-specific ontologies (links) for their working group(s)? What are the ontologies that are going to be mapped or aligned to the X3D Ontology? Can we collect the meta mapping ontology as a link?

Thanks,

John

Sounds good...

Our workshop materials and slideset describe our plans. There is still a lot of ground to cover to get there. I expect that we'll likely be focused on X3D-centric scene graph queries for the rest of the year. We have to become adept at our domain before we can most effectively align it with others.

Recommendation: let's craft use cases, then example SPARQL queries that illustrate them with X3D models. The following book is great:

* Bob Ducharme, Learning SPARQL, second edition, OReilly Media, Sebastopol, 2013.

Now maintaining a list of helpful books at

As is everyone. Best is to look at other sources, see what patterns work well, then apply them to X3D models.

Highest recommendation:

* Leslie F. Sikos, Mastering Structured Data on the Semantic Web: from HTML5 Microdata to Linked Open Data, Apress Springer Science+Business Media, New York, 2015.

Those are in the RDF1.1 vocabulary and covered in the Learning SPARQL book.
