These are good questions, that arise me the same way. PointProperties are somehow inconsistent compared to the texture / color handling of Material and Texture.

Should coloringnot be handled the same way as it is for other geometries, eg. usecolor if no texture, use texture if no color, and blend if both areprovided ? Other geometries do not require a colorMode field afterall.Even if there is an additional benefit of having the colorMode field, I think "TEXTURE_AND_POINT_COLOR" should multiply rather than add:"TEXTURE_AND_POINT_COLOR shall display the RGBA channels of a textureadded to the RGB channels of the color defined in X3DMaterialNode orX3DColorNode node, and the A channel of the texture if any."Adding introduces the problem of how to deal with oversaturatedcomponents and contradicts how combining colors is defined for othergeometries. Also, only RGBA textures are mentioned. Should one component (alpha),2 component (greyscale plus alpha) and 3 component (RGB) textures alsobe allowed or well defined ?https://www.web3d.org/x3d/content/X3dTooltips.html#PointProperties.containerFieldhas a copy and paste typo. It still refers to "lineProperties"-Andreas-- Andreas PleschWaltham, MA 02453_______________________________________________x3d-public mailing listx3d-public at web3d.orghttp://web3d.org/mailman/listinfo/x3d-public_web3d.org
