correct, in this case the regex page's TODO might well be interpreted as "dragons may be there" especially since many other beasts from heck are already tamed on that page.  :0

and yes escaping escape characters in combination with escaping quote marks (which can have multiple representations, " and " and ") is a tricky business.

an elegant solution is probably do-able, and achieving that might be possible for an enlightened regex guru.  so leaving behind a TODO is OK for someone someday.

meanwhile allowing a single-string entry without quotation marks is easy to represent.  8)
