project team has organized a workshop on 16 June, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
at the <a href="http://www.teratec.eu/gb/forum/index.html"
title="http://www.teratec.eu/gb/forum/index.html"><span style='color:#17365D'>TER@TEC
2010</span></a> conference in Paris, France to discuss New Paradigms of
Scientific Visualization. <b>Web3D consortium’s Dr. Johannes Behr </b>from
<a href="http://www.igd.fraunhofer.de/igd-a2/research/index.html.en"
title="http://www.igd.fraunhofer.de/igd-a2/research/index.html.en"><span
style='color:#17365D'>Fraunhofer</span></a>, Germany will present the X3D file
format as one of the Scientific Visualization Norms and Standards. As a real
decision-making support tool, scientific visualization faces new paradigms.
With scientific tools multiplication and their respective evolutions, questions
regarding 3D exchange formats norms have risen and must be addressed. X3D,
Collada or VRML are examples (among many others) of formats offering different
perspectives to different users. The COLLAVIZ project is developing a remote
collaborative visualization framework, aiming at giving access to visualization
through a simple Internet connection. It already integrates applications such
as Ensight or Paraview, allowing the exploitation of the results in a
collaborative mode in fields relative to fluids dynamics, biochemistry or
geophysics, etc.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
