No. glTF is a file format, not a run-time. X3D can do things that
glTF cannot. That said glTF also has capabilities that are not in
X3D, most notably, physically based rendering. <br>
<br>
In general, it is very useful to think of glTF as a model file
format, much like JPEG (technically JFIF) is an image file format.
The major differences are glTF capabilities are greater than just a
model format (supports lights, cameras, etc.) and the format is not
designed as an archive format.<br>
