[Korea-chapter] Meeting Minutes : RE: [X3D] Fw: Teleconference on X3D and e-Learning SIG

Hi All,

 

Here are the minutes of today's teleconference on X3D and E-learning

Time:  PST 18:15-19:20  April 27 (Wed)/KST 10:15-11:20 Apr 28 (Thu).

 

Attendees: Don Brutzman, Anita Havele, Myeong won Lee, and Yong-Sang Cho.

 

Agenda:

1.      1. Review the charter on the wiki page 
http://web3d.org/x3d/wiki/index.php/X3D_and_E-Learning 

The Charter will be presented to the Web3D board (May 2, 2011) for final
approval. Please see attached document. 

Final comments from the e-learning team expected by Friday April 29th, 2011.

Looking for final agreement on the charter and participants from the
e-learning group. 

Identify Chairs and Co-Chairs (suggestions Don Brutzman Chair and Kwan Hee
Yoo as co-chair)

Next meeting prepare a slide set for outreach.

Can we add a link to Kwan Hee Yoo's e-book?

2. What do we do during the following meeting: 
-Web3D Conference 20-22 June 2011, Paris France (nobody of Korean) 

Include E-learning in one of the workshops at the Web3D Conference in Paris


-SIGGRAPH Educators at SIGGRAPH 2011, 9-11 August in Vancouver Canada 

The approved E-learning SIG Charter will be presented to the SIGGRAPH
Educators committee for further input.

3. MOU Progress 

- IMS Global Learning Consortium. 

Rob Able from IMS is in agreement with the MOU and would like to move
forward with the MOU. Present the MOU to the board foe a final approval.
(May 2nd, 2011). Yong-Sang Cho will be our liaison between IMS and Web3D
Consortium. Yong-Sang Cho to attend the IMS conference in Long Beach
starting May 16-19. We will ask Leonard Daly if he is able to attend this
conference and a meeting with Rob Able. 



4. ePub 
-IDPF(international digital publishing forum, http://www.idpf.org) 
-ePub2.0.1 (2009) 
-ePub3.0(Working group draft 15. Feb. 2011)- XHTML(HTML5), SVG, Audio, 
Video(???), Animation(???), X3D(???) 

 

Overview and reference provided by Dr. Yong Sang Cho.

IDPF may not be ready for partnership and have a forum to collaborate.

 

Recommendation by Dr. Yong Sang Cho. This is a very interesting example of a
3D electronic book.

Outreach to the China Chapter for participation.
