[X3D-Public] MovieTexture and AudioClip royalty-free options

I am looking at both MovieTexture and AudioClip
There is no royalty-free option

MovieTexture:
"The url field that defines the movie data shall support MPEG1-Systems (audio and video) or MPEG1-Video (video-only) movie file formats as defined in ISO/IEC 11172-1." 
patents may be expired

AudioClip:
"Browsers shall support at least the wavefile  format in uncompressed PCM format (see [WAV])."
there are patents on the wav formate also know as microsoft RIFF format

"It is recommended that browsers also support the MIDI file type 1 sound format (see 2.[MIDI])"
there are patents on Midi

"and the MP3 compressed format (see 2.[I11172-1])."
there are patents and cost
