_Interactive 3D Multimedia Content: Models for Creation, Management, Search and Presentation_,
edited by Wojciech Cellary and Krzysztof Walczak, Springer London,
302 pages, 2012.

Contributed chapters discuss X3D capabilities together with other
standards, then describe significant implemented research work
regarding 3D/VR/AR systems. Most works provide extensions based
on the VRML/X3D standards.

Online resource: Chapter 2, Interactive 3D Content Standards.

Many of you will recognize Krzystof as a long-time contributor and
thought leader in ACM and the annual Web3D Conferences. This is a
tremendous and thought-provoking book that shows multiple innovations
relating to 3D content creation and management, search and presentation.
The power of building multiple systems sharing a common standards basis
points the way to future capabilities in 3D online games, communities
and interactive experiences.
