the approach to use tags for every time is a common occurrence among newbie XML designers.  it is verbose and leads to bigger files, and perhaps is more error prone, but will not affect performance once loaded for 3D printing.

p.s. my personal XML slogan, suitable for bumper sticker or skateboard:  "attributes are not a crime"  8)
