The X3D Validator online service can check local or online scenes. It has been updated to include
- size checks for primitive geometry nodes must not be zero or negative
- increased memory for supporting larger files

Test reports welcome, especially for scenes that have flaws with remain undetected (not too many of those around).

These updates will be further deployed in a new X3D-Edit build to be published next week.

Of potential interest to X3D authors and students: these tests can all be conducted live from any of the Web3D online examples, using the "checkmark button" in the header for any single scene in the repositories. For instance:

then select down to a chapter summary

then all the variations for a single file, such as Box.x3d (screenshot attached)

note that the checkmark button (highlighted in top center) simply links that online .x3d url to the validator.

You then have the choice to select the Validate button to see this work.

Background information on Quality Assurance (QA) efforts for X3D is available on the X3D Resources page.

If content is king, then the validator helps your content look kingly. Have fun with X3D!

all the best, Don
