[x3d-public] X3D Resources Examples. Basic/UniversalMediaMaterials images are monochrome

Leonard,

 

Sorry if I didn't make it clear. My attached images are generated using my
own Coin3D based viewer. The images on the web site we are comparing against
are:

In all there are 547 viewpoint images listed, all appearing to be
monochrome.

Roy's attached images show in color for me. I am using Thunderbird for
preview and GIMP for manipulation. The bottom checkerboard plane  is light &
dark gray with text in white. The sphere's show in color with highlights. If
Roy's images are not what you see, please send URLs to the pages & images in
question.

The 3D models do have colour. I  don't know if they were captured as
monochrome to save disk space. Each thumbnail file is a PNG file,  with a
resolution of 128x128 and a bit depth of 32. The first attached image is
from ArtDecoExamples.x3d, Low Right Viewpoint at the same resolution
settings.

 

The viewpoint images on the web site are also all monochrome. The resolution
is 792x465 with a bit depth of 32. The Second attached image is the same
settings, using the same example and viewpoint as the first. This latter
image is 95kb. The one on the web site is only 12kb.

 

Don should be able to provide more info .

Another thing I forgot to mention was that the Basic/UniversalMediaMaterials
thumbnail images don't show color.  I think

they should.  Someone please check out the X3D Resources Examples thumbnail
images for accuracy.
