Yes... you might also use X3D Tidy as a preprocessor/filter to clean things up.

	"X3D Tidy is an XSLT stylesheet that checks for simple authoring difficulties in X3D scenes and fixes them."

Am happy to update as needed and desired.  X3D version cleanup (of DTD, schema and version attribute) is already supported.
