[x3d-public] Use of XMLSpy for X3D

My wife balked at buying me an XMLSpy license for Xmas.
I hope that X3D development does not require XMLSpy in the future.
OxygenXML is not much cheaper.
Perhaps we can support each other by contributing to floating licenses?
Would NetBeans with plugins or VSCode or Eclipse provide near equivalent
functionality?
What do you think?
Thanks,
John
