[x3d-public] X3D Animation Debugger for HAnim?

I'm seeing one mention of "debug" on the X3D Resources page, and the link
goes to XMLSpy.  I'm not currently working with XML, and XML Spy costs
hundreds of dollars.

Can one debug event utilities and timers with any available HAnim authoring
tool that runs on Windows 10? X3D-Edit? I may even spin up a virtual
machine or run on my Mac Air.

Does declarative mean no debugging?  LOL!
