[x3d-public] basic instructions about X3D

➢ Are there tools to programmatically or parametrically modify skeletons/rigging with X3D HAnim LOA4 input?

A good tool would be a script to build a Humanoid from simple lists.
List 1: List of realistic example values for Joint centers.
List 2: List of realistic example values for feature point Sites.
These lists could be modified by users to get their personal skeleton using their personal measurements.
These would be good starting point for working with a ‘standard’ skeleton and developing more detail.
A model for this in HAnim Part 1 Annex A tables where, not fortunately, some values are missing.
Thanks,
Joe

Are there tools to programmatically or parametrically modify skeletons/rigging with X3D HAnim LOA4 input?  I’m hoping the X3D geometry associated with the skeleton/rigging transforms along with the skeleton.

I’m aware of X3DJSAIL and x3d.py.  I’m looking for instructions for incorporating these into X3D-Edit and pycharm for near realtime feedback.  I’m pretty much a clown at IDEs. I may start looking at how to incorporate X3D into vim3d, if people are interested.

I’ve tried to do this at least twice.  Blender doesn’t import the skeleton that i know of.  Maybe someone posted though.

No rush on my part.

Hi all,

A friend asked me for advice about basic X3D knowledge.

I have to admit, I am not sure what I should answer, so I have collected a few questions and hope for your answers :-)

Q1: how do i brush up my website with 3d graphics, the easiest way (but it should be future proof)?
Q2: the most recommended resources on the web (wikis, blogs, websites, social network pages (facebook, twitter, ...))?
Q3: the most recommended books / e-books?

Thanks,
Christoph
