Am happy to report steady progress on the following tools. Today tested
all of these current versions working together satisfactorily:

   - *Java OpenJDK 25.0.1* with configuration info and latest version kept
   up to date at
   - X3D Developers Guide: Java
   <https://www.web3d.org/x3d/content/examples/X3dDevelopersGuide.html#Java>

   - *NetBeans 28* with configuration info and latest version kept up to
   date at
   - X3D Developers Guide: NetBeans
   <https://www.web3d.org/x3d/content/examples/X3dDevelopersGuide.html#NetBeans>

   - *X3D-Edit 4.0 Authoring Tool for Extensible 3D (X3D) Graphics*
   - X3D-Edit is a free, open-source Extensible 3D (X3D) Graphics authoring
   tool for simple high-quality authoring, editing, import/export, validation
   and viewing of X3D scenes.
   - Home page https://www.web3d.org/x3d/tools/X3D-Edit (Web3D open-source
   license and release)
   - with updated pre-release 4.0.40 now available at SourceForge x3d
   release site </>

Those with prior installations of NetBeans (25, 26, 27) should find the
NetBeans 28 Plugin menu item will update X3D-Edit to the current official
4.0.29 release satisfactorily (it worked for me). The NetBeans Plugin
portal download statistics show over 28,000 downloads since May 2023.

Feedback is always welcome. Have fun with X3D-Edit! 😀👍

all the best, Don
