We reviewed and updated the page above, including links for all key resources.

	From CAD to the Web
	Tuesday - 7 August, 11:00- 12:30
	Marc Petit (marc-f.petit at edf.fr)
	Hyokwang Lee (adpc9 at partdb.com)
	Don Brutzman (brutzman at nps.edu)

This session is for attendees interested in Web3D applications for CAD.
Discussion topics include Web3D, STEP, B-REP, WebGL, and CAD data conversion.

Overall BOF schedule can be found at
http://www.web3d.org/realtime-3d/events/web3d-siggraph-2012

Leonard: can you please link the CAD BOF wiki page to the main schedule:

	http://www.web3d.org/x3d/wiki/index.php/CAD_BoF_2012

Leonard and Anita: do you think we can have a good audio connection
in the room? We hope to Skype in Vince to the BOF room.

We will practice Vince's demo together in the next working group meeting
the prior Friday.

Hyo described an interesting set of tests and examples, exploring how a master
CAD scene might use X3D Inline or Prototype to pull in additional CAD models.

We agreed with his conclusions and will comment in detail on the email thread
for those documents. Recommended reading.

This is leading to some very interesting "best practices" for CAD model usage
across multiple X3D scenes. Here are some possibilities:

- Always use CADAssembly as the parent node in a separate X3D model that can
be as a subassembly within a different model
- Similar approaches are possible for Inline and for Prototype
- We need to build example scenes showing this
- Inline IMPORT/EXPORT can expose subassembly fields to a parent CADAssembly for tool usage
- Similarly, careful naming within a prototype declaration can expose subassembly fields to a parent CADAssembly for tool usage
- We may find that we want to recommend an addition to Inline functionality so that
it automatically recognizes the existent of CAD nodes being loaded
- Together this might ensure that X3D players and tools are able to treat
aggregated (combination) assemblies and subassemblies in various
parent-child scenes very simply as one big CAD model

> - Work in progress (to be discussed if needed)
> * CADFace spec. change

Suggested approach:
- Ask for comments by browser companies about spec change to include
	transform fields in CADFace
- Meanwhile, current best practice already supported by major browsers is
to use Transform under CADFace. This allows tools and examples
	to proceed without problems today.
- Following SIGGRAPH discussions, when ready, submit specification change
to match. Submit to ISO 1 week after SIGGRAPH for SC24 meeting.

Documentation: X3D Mantis Issue 528:
allow CADPart to also contain Transform nodes with CADFace, LOD

> * X3D Validator(Don)

X3D Validator is getting updated about once a week, usually for improved
X3D Schematron diagnostics. Updated this evening, test sat.

Similarly X3D-Edit is getting updated every week or two. Tonight's update
includes improvements to the Anchor interface to be type aware when appropriate.

> * NURBS component(vince)

Xj3D source integration of NURBS is an active issue, Vince working with NPS.
Potential solution is emerging from Vince, posted on Xj3D source at web3d mailing list.
We hope to experiment with this tomorrow using the NPS branch of Xj3D.

> * Possibility of liaison with TC184/SC4 : asking opinions Web3D Board and SC24

No action taken... needs to be... running out of time. Dick can you help?

Additional agenda item:

- CAD working group strategies for NURBS and for B-REPS

Hyo and Vince will work on the primary points for our SIGGRAPH reports,
then review the proposed strategies with Marc and Don. After that
we will post to CAD working group list.
