Joe, thanks for your notes and references.

One caution:  All of the MPEG-4 is encumbered by patents.  So we can't use that.  We can't even look at it for proposing specific work or Web3D  becomes vulnerable to being "tainted" and getting sued.

I'm not reading any MPEG-4 documents.  If others have legal questions they should consult the Web3D Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy, linked on the website.
