we're happy to announce a new release of X3D-Edit which is based on
Netbeans 6.7. Features include

- faster performance, better memory management
- author assist for Viewpoint orientation
- Inline and prototype templates as drag+drop palette icons
- integration capability for bugzilla issue trackers
- new teapot for Shape icon by intern Kathryn, more to follow 8)

Tested satisfactorily as standalone application and as a Netbeans 6.7 plugin.

Because this is a major release, autoupdate of your previous version will
probably not work. Please reinstall, hopefully in a different directory.
Once you are satisfied with the new version, you can delete the old one.

Potential issue: surprisingly netbeans 6.7 has made JDK 6 installation a
prerequisite to run the tool. so if you had only a Java Run-time Environment
(JRE) you will also need to add (or replace JRE with) JDK. Availabble online,

Test reports welcome, enjoy!

all the best, Don
