The key field defines required intervals. This is what prompted this
thread ... So a link from the word 'interval' in the key field
explanations to the range interval examples or more specifically to
the [k0, k1) example would help clarify that the intervals are defined
as being left-closed. Instead of a link there could also be just a
reference: 'see range intervals below' .
