These are assigned and resolution via mailing list feedback has been continuing.

"Dates can easily be supported using the current metadata nodes. For example, a MetadataString could be used to supply a text representation of the date in a form desired by the author. Alternatively, a date can be represented as a MetadataSet where each part of the date (or date/time or time) could be individual set elements. In either case, ISO 8601 can be referenced as the metadata standard being supported. A new X3D data type would require supporting all of the optional formats worldwide (and culture-wide), so support would be complicated."
