Long time no see indeed, time flies :)
And I sense there was a misunderstanding: I was referring to technical
(like PBR, photogrammetry, or streaming large datasets)
that either originated or were popularized/improved by gamedevs,
I wasn't talking about using X3D to build games.
Even hardwares commonplace in research like Oculus or Kinect
initially started as game accessories.
