[X3D-Ecosystem] Scala or Clojure for X3DJSAIL?

I’m considering generating Scala or Closure code from X3D XML code via JSON
and DOM, for the X3DJSAIL library.  Is this the functional programming 3D
killer app people are looking for?  Should I use Scala or Clojure first?
