[X3D-Ecosystem] Ant to Java?

Has anyone considered converting ant build.xml files to Java?  Pluses and
minuses?  Surely, there are rich libraries in ant one could use? And ant
seems fairly stable.

I guess the programs wouldn’t be IDE-aware.  I am just thinking out-loud.

Maybe I’ve had an overload of languages.

At this point,  Gradle is just a huge disappointment.   If I need to
download jars to compile, I’ll just use maven, or grab them myself.
