I don't know. I do math in X3D, and I've thought a little about
creating a command shell in X3D.
I've written some math that looks like a 3D flower and one that looks
like something dropping in a pool of water.
I would rather write a game at the domain level. I suggest that if
you want to write a game,
choose a domain specific engine. My nephew found this one: http://www.fpscreator.com/

Probably the Navy has some simulations.
I've seen some games ported to X3D/VRML, at least the geometry.
From what I've seen on this list, there is more focus on tools and
frameworks
Protecting content is an issue.
