I sent a message to this mailing list on this topic on 4th April but I think
I sent it from the wrong email address so it didn't get through.
Firstly, I'm very sad to hear this announcement. Vivaty player and
Vivaty studio
were invaluable to me during my Masters project at university and it will be
sad to see the end of such hard work. I'm also sorry to all those who work
at Vivaty who will be affected by this.
Does anyone know what will happen to the source code for Vivaty Player and
Vivaty Studio, which I believe have been closed source for quite a while? It
would be a shame for all of this hard work on X3D to go to waste.
AJAX3D was also very useful to me, and I think it would be a great idea to
join efforts with X3DOM going forward so that we can get native X3D in
browsers in the future.
Regards
Ben
