Hi
I managed to get the Xj3D Browser to run as an applet in a web page. If you want to give it a try you will need a current version of Java JRE for it to work. You can get the JRE from this link.
http://www.java.com/en
If your java JRE version is more current than Release 6 Update 10 then you can download the Xj3D applet from this site.

It takes a couple of minutes to load and you will be prompted to accept 3 security certificates since the Xj3D applet uses signed jar files. After the applet loads you will see the Xj3D Browser in your web page with the HelloWorld.x3d file loaded. I tested it on my Windows XP machine with both IE and Firefox. I haven't tested it with Linux or Solaris but it should work since they use SUN's java JRE. I don't think it will work on a MAC since they don't support JNLP files and they provide their own version of Java JRE on their machines.
Regards
John
