John,
How use 360 images > haven't tried myself, but a few ideas that popped to
mind:
1) background image
- instead of 6 images of box, a spherical mesh with UV (but what exactly
depends on camera / lenses and saved image)
2) content authoring using photogrammetry
- take 2 or more spherical images, and
A. Orient
a) solve for relative orientation of each shot or
b) carefully maintain orientation and move camera a known distance for
second shot (vertical or horizontal 'base')
B. Map
- with mouse, drag separate crosshair in each shot to the same object space
point, and record the image space spherical coordinates from each crosshair
- then using known relative orientation(s) of the shots, trigonometrically
intersect the shot rays to get object space coordinates for the point
- finish drawing object by connecting points, in a graphics editor, or
integrate drawing editor
